Speakers Dog Symposium 2020:
Jennie Harvey, Australia
With a long-standing interest in understanding the world from a dog’s point of view, Jennie is committed to helping owners improve their dog’s wellbeing and explore new experiences with them.
Jennie completed Turid Rugaas’ renowned International Dog Trainer Education in 2018, following her completion of the Certified Behavior Adjustment Training Instructor course (CBATI) in 2015. With an eclectic approach to dog behaviour training, she regularly attends educational seminars in Australia and overseas and hosted Turid’s first sell-out Australian seminar in 2014.
Jennie lives in Busselton, on the southern western coast of Western Australia. In 2012 she identified a clear need among local owners and dogs for a fun, safe place to develop their relationship away from frantic dog parks and unfulfilling walks on suburban streets.
In partnership with Elizabeth Muir, Jennie developed the Busselton Snuffle Garden Project, creating safe and mentally stimulating environments that encourage curiosity and confidence in dogs. The project now boasts a number of backyards, gardens and properties and has attracted worldwide interest and praise.
Jennie currently consults with business owners on creating snuffle gardens/spaces in their workplace and trains staff on how to maximise the fulfilment of both dog and owner.
